I had a Dapol manor here for sound fitting this week, the customer also requested a stay alive, finding space for this proved to be quite difficult! My class 45 arrived this week and its a great model! I was pleased to see how much space was inside it for DCC sound and there are quite a few different speaker options which fit. I tried the 25x25x7, a pair of 20x20x7 and even an EM1 which fits with only minor modifications. Here's a video where I go into more detail about how to carry out the installation. My 'Fell' loco arrived this week, it's a nice model of a very unusual loco, but a few simple upgrades can really improve it. The first problem was that most of the contacts don't touch the wheels properly, these can be bent towards the backs of the wheels with a small screwdriver. The next job is to get rid of the awful factory fitted speaker, My first thought was to use 1 or 2 megabass speakers, these are a perfect fit if the lugs are cut off at one side to fit around the screw towers in the model. The latest Bachmann class 47's come with a pair of speakers pre fitted which which make a DCC sound installation easy.  The speakers are pretty good, one of them is a megabass with a plastic cover to form an enclosure. The plux22 decoder simply pushes into the holes on the PCB once the blanking plug is removed.
